Clean the dryer filter regularly

Lower the water heater temperature to 120 degrees

Weather stripping around windows and doors keeps cold air out

Turn off appliances when not in use

Always choose ENERGY STAR appliances

All your outlets should be covered with faceplates

Ideally, Outlets should be double insulted and protect by ground fault circuit interrupters

Don't overload your outlets with too many cords and appliances

Keep electrical cords in good condition by keeping them out of traffic areas and if showing signs of wear then replace

When you reset your CLOCKS in the Spring and Fall

Test your carbon monoxide and/or smoke detector

Replace battery on your carbon monoxide and/or smoke detector (if equipped)

Be sure to replace the carbon monoxide and/or smoke detector per manufacture recommendations
